Scottish Home Awards 2017 Finalist

We were delighted to be informed this morning of the news that our Kinnear Road development with Playfair Properties Ltd was shortlisted as a Scottish Home Awards 2017 Finalist in the prestigious Scottish Home Awards Renovation of The Year category.

Our fingers will be crossed for the possibility of winning our 4th Scottish Home Award at the awards celebration on Thursday 15th June at the Hilton Glasgow.

The historically ‘B’ listed Edinburgh Academy Boarding Houses were designed by Alexander Paterson and built in 1899. Scott House and Jeffrey House are a mirrored pair both being three storey asymmetrical Arts and Crafts buildings. Boarding at the Edinburgh Academy ceased in 2006.

Jeffrey House West was purchased by a private client with Lorn Macneal Architects offering a bespoke architectural service for the conversion, refurbishment and extension of this property into a modern family home.

Playfair Properties Ltd purchased the remainder of Jeffrey House, Scott House and gap site between, selling each existing property as a shell to each purchaser as a package with the service of Lorn Macneal Architects to provide individually bespoke fully refurbished and restored properties.

Lorn Macneal Architects have also designed Newfield House a contemporary four storey home designed to high specifications to fit neatly between Scott & Jeffrey Houses. Newfield is currently in the final throes of construction at internal fit out stage.
